The Scriptural passage for today is found in 1 Peter 2:2: “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it, you may grow up in your salvation.” The early Christian writer was always offering encouragement to the new converts, as well as assurance to those grounded in the faith. Early adherents to Christianity were then, and today, like newborn babies. There is that desire for spiritual growth. Just as newborns crave milk for sustenance and growth, we, too, need more and more knowledge of God and His teachings if we are to mature in Christian growth. Let’s not allow that growth to be stunted. Let us always be eager to learn more about Jesus, study our BIBLE more, and have an active, ongoing prayer life. As the old hymn puts it, “More about Jesus would I know. More of His grace to others show. More of His saving fullness see. More of His love Who died for me.” Amen!
