Lavanda Denise (Pitts) Parish
Lavanda Denise (Pitts) Parish went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the age of 62. She was born to James Pitts and Rose (Sullivan) Pitts on March 12, 1959, in Montgomery, AL.
She married the love of her life, Gary, during her senior year of high school. Not one for material things, they started their life together with only each other. They went on to have three children and built a successful life together. Lavanda was known for her loving and tender nature, her love of God, and her devotion to her family. She was a true person of faith and lived life to serve others.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gary Dale Parish; son, Gary Dewayne Parish (Susie); daughters, Michelle Powell (Paul), Pam Mitchell (Jason); brother Ricky Pitts (Pam); sisters, Lee Spooner (Larry), Cora Thrift (Jimmy); grandchildren, Christian Mitchell, Chase Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Taylor Wilkes, Chelsea Parish, Gracie Parish, Breanna Wicker, Ashley Powell; great-grandchildren, Alaina Wilkes, Paisley Wicker, Mikaeva Mitchell, Kaleb Mitchell, Jaxon Mitchell and Lilleean Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rose Pitts.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Magee, MS from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Isaac Powell officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
