SoftballRocksWESSON – The Co-Lin Lady Wolves will hold their annual softball camp on June 15-17. Camp times for players in grades 1-5 are from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and grades 6-12 from 1-4 p.m. Campers will cover all aspects of the game of softball including fundamentals, mechanics, skills and drills for offense and defense including video analysis. Players from the beginner to the advanced levels will benefit from the instruction and applications provided.
Pre-paid camp fee is $80 and includes a camp T-shirt, limited medical insurance, and Gatorade. Players may register on June 15, from 8-9 a.m. (grades 1-5) and 12-1 p.m. (grades 6-12) at Lady Wolves Softball Field on the Wesson Campus. Pre-registration is preferred for scheduling purposes. Walk-up registration will be $90 (ask about multiple siblings discounts).
Participants should bring their cleats, glove, batting gloves (strongly recommended), helmet, bat (optional); catchers should bring their catching gear. In case of inclement weather, the camp will move to the two gyms on campus (bring tennis shoes).
Camp director is Lady Wolves Head Softball Coach Allen Kent. Kent is entering his 14th year at the helm of Co-Lin softball. The Lady Wolves have a rich history, winning three MACJC State Championships during Kent’s tenure. The Lady Wolves won the 2006 and 2008 NJCAA Region 23 Championships. The 2008 team finished runners-up in the NJCAA National Championship and the 2006 team finished 3rd in the nation. The Lady Wolves have been consistently ranked in the NJCAA polls.
Lady Wolves assistant coach Duane Burt will assist with instruction along with current and former Co-Lin players.
For more information contact Coach Kent at (601) 643-8314 or email allen.kent@colin.edu
