Simpson played Starkville Academy, Wednesday, February 9, for the first round of playoffs. The Lady Cougars had a 7-point lead in the first quarter, with a score of 21-14. At the end of the second quarter, Simpson still led by 7 (31-24). Simpson girls started gaining momentum in the third quarter with a 12-point lead (46-34). The Cougars beat Starkville 54-31 and secured their spot in the semifinals.
The Semifinals will be held at Simpson Academy on Friday. The Lady Cougars will play Heritage Academy for a shot to make it to the championship. The winner of this game will play the winner of Pillow and Leake. Simpson girls will play at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2023.
