The Simpson Academy Lady Cougars season may have ended their softball season Monday night, but not without a hard-fought battle. The Cougars were defeated by a gritty Oak Forest team 11-10 in extra innings and finishing 4th in the State!!

The game was a dogfight for sure!
Brother Jason Webb, pastor of Goodwater Baptist Church, presented the devotion for the team. With his permission, I am posting.
“So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.”
This was the verse I was able to share today for the Simpson Academy softball team. I told them what happens in the game today does not define them. But what they do with Jesus does! As I was speaking, I made eye contact with these two men. They are some of the fiercest competitors I have ever encountered. They hate losing more than they love winning I believe. But those men are incredibly special. I thank God for them often. I’m blessed to have them week by week in my congregation. They understand that life isn’t given it’s value by W’s and L’s, rather the life they live for Jesus.
Although the season is over and it didn’t end the way we wanted, I am confident that the impact of these Harrison boys runs deep. The parents, athletes, and all who have encountered them are better and pointed to Jesus more because of them.
Great season boys.
I’m proud of you.
The team consisted of only two seniors (Olivia Banks & Gracie Giordane), two 10th graders, five 9th graders, three 8th graders, and four 7th graders.
