James Clifton Kelly, III (Clif) was sworn in as the Mayor of Mt Olive Monday night. Honorable Judge Bobby Wayne Mooney gave the oath of office to Mayor Kelly. The Alderpersons for the upcoming year are: Terry Barron, Willie Pearl McCullum, Mary P. Norman, John Larry Sullivan, and Roger C. Sullivan.
The Mayor’s Motto for the town: “Together we stand, hand in hand, we will stand united to make Mount Olive the best.”
Town Clerk Mrs. Gwendolyn Hawthorne served as Mistress of Ceremony.

Ms. Breyon Magee, Deputy Clerk, gave the welcome.
Paula Johnston ledge in the Pledge to the American Flag.
Ms Sandra Boyd recognized the Dignitaries in attendance.
Ms. Dawn Dampier sand “The National Anthem.”
Mrs. Jane Kelly presented the newly elected officials.
Following the ceremony, Mayor James Clifton Kelly, III presented his plans for the upcoming four years as Mayor.
Rev. Joe Gardner led in the prayer for the Town and blessing of the food.
Friends and family gathered to witness the special occasion.
The Municipal Government Committee members: Gwendolyn Hawthrone, Town Clerk; Sandra Boyd; Dawn Gray Dampier; Paula Johnston; Jame Kelly; and Peggy Sullivan planned the reception.
