Evelyn Copeland of Keep Simpson County Beautiful presents Anna Rushing of Berry Restaurant with 2-9Volt batteries for her home smoke detector.

Simpson County was one of three counties in the State chosen for a grant from Keep Mississippi Beautiful that supplies 9 volt batteries to emphasize the importance of changing smoke alarm batteries.

Keep Simpson County Beautiful received 18,900 batteries for distribution. 1,000 have been given to all Simpson County fire departments as well as other area organizations.
