Jimmy Dale Phipps, 77 of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the MS Care Center in Raleigh, Mississippi. He was born Monday, July 23, 1945, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Dr. Richard Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Mr. Jimmy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville. He enjoyed spending time reading and studying the Bible. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed hunting, spending time around horses, playing dominoes, drinking coffee with his buddies, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Phipps; mother, Lettie Sanford Phipps; and granddaughter, Lauren Alexandra Phipps.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Donna Blakeney Phipps of Taylorsville, MS; two sons, Mark Phipps (Melissa Blakeney) of Taylorsville, MS, and Mike Phipps (Bridgitte) of Taylorsville, MS; one daughter, Joanna Phipps Quinn (Mark) of Taylorsville, MS; six grandchildren, Channing Phipps of Pascagoula, MS, Brady Quinn of Taylorsville, MS, Hailee Chisholm Crumpton (Matt) of Taylorsville, MS, Joshua Chisholm of Louin, MS, Cameron Phipps (Ashley) of Bay Springs, MS and Anna Grace Purser of Mendenhall, MS; three great-grandchildren, Cannon Phipps of Bay Springs, MS, Ellie Phipps of Bay Springs, MS and Edyn Phipps of Bay Springs, MS; one brother, Mitchell Phipps (Denise) of Taylorsville, MS; two sisters, Mary Jo Phipps Anderson of Taylorsville, MS and Susan Phipps Bounds of Taylorsville, MS; and a host of other family members.
Pallbearers will be David Blakeney, David Ellis Blakeney, Mark Quinn, Jeremy Phipps, Jerry Evans, and Cameron Phipps.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas White and Danny Warren.
