Jimmy Dale Kennedy, 77, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Monday, June 29, 1942, in Magee, Mississippi.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Merchant Cemetery in Raleigh, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Merchant Cemetery. Bro. Jason M. Webb will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mr. Kennedy was a member and Elder of Sharon Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Maintenance Superintendent with the MS Highway Department with forty-two years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother. He enjoyed spending the morning with his friends at the Magee Wards Coffee Club. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Gearldine Robinson Kennedy; one sister, Linda Roberts; and one brother-in-law, Larry Roberts.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Dorothy Annette Kennedy of Magee; one daughter, Cindy Little and husband John of Mize; one son, Mike Kennedy and wife Christy of Mize; three grandchildren, Abigail Kennedy, Weston Kennedy, and Cassidy Little and wife, Criston; four great-grandchildren, Gannon Little, Kenzie Little, Maverick Little, and Bella Little; one niece, Chanda Davis and husband David; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Magee Wards Coffee Club.
