Jeanette S. Cole, 71, of Mize, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at her home in Mize, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, June 7, 1949.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Mize.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Mize. The Burial will follow in Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Tony Keys and Kirk Triplett will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.
Mrs. Jeanette was a lifelong lover of education and teaching. She taught in the Smith County School District and Simpson County School District during her career. After beginning her career at Taylorsville Elementary School she spent the majority of her teaching career at Mize Attendance Center. She loved books and wanted every child to have a love of reading and exploration. After retirement of 34 years in public school systems, she taught for 2 years at Millcreek Schools. She said this was one of the most fulfilling things she had ever done. She loved all children and they loved her. Mrs. Cole was a member of First Baptist Church of Mize and active in the women’s ministry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stone D. and Margie Sullivan; sister, Joan (Sue) Skipper.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Cole; daughter, Michelle Austin (George); son, Charles Neal Cole (April); grandchildren, Tyler Austin (Destiny), Samuel Austin, Carrie Stringer (Tanner), and Hunter Cole; great-grandchildren; Kinley Stringer and Aidan Kash Stringer; sisters, Becky Wallace and Brenda Adcox (Charlie); brother, Michael Sullivan (Melinda); a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kennedy, Brandon Adcox, Tanner Stringer, Avery Rice, Landon Austin, Ty Green, Nick Sullivan, and John Sullivan.
