Supervisor Wayne Womack brought to the attention of the board the damage created on E. L. Wallace Road. The damage came from the contractor in that area tearing up the roads and expecting the county to pay for repairs. “The county has already spent money to allow passage on the road…this should not be on the taxpayer,” stated Womack. The contractor is still “hauling” on the road following a re-route to enter from Highway 540.
Danny Craft questioned the weight limit on this road. In the future, the board felt a bond should be paid by the company in charge of the business to help support the correction of a contractor’s errors.
Wayne Womack stated, “a dump truck causes more damage than a log truck.”
The board will make a demand to the contractor for cost in repairing the road.
Jeremy Bolton noted that the county crew would begin removing two dead trees on the courthouse lawn Thursday, January 16, 2025. Jeremy also discussed items #8 A-G on County Administrator Eric Bowen’s report.
