James MacArthur Reeves, 81, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, passed away at his residence on January 9, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1943, to Louise Blair Reeves and James H. Reeves.
Mr. Reeves was a devoted Christian and a cherished member of the Crossroads Holiness Church. As a talented musician, he loved playing the banjo and guitar, and his love for Bluegrass music was evident to all who knew him.
“Mac” as his friends and family called him, also enjoyed watching NASCAR and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and also served in the U.S. Army. Professionally, he was a truck driver, traveling the countryside and hauling freight for many years, showcasing his strong work ethic and commitment.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Nelson Burns Reeves; his parents, Louise Blair Reeves and James H. Reeves; and two brothers, Willie Dale Reeves and Thomas Ray Reeves.
He is survived by his only son, Scotty Dale Reeves (Brooke).
Visitation will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 10:00 A.M until 11:00 AM. The graveside service will follow at Magee City Cemetery.
