JAMES ELLIS MURRAY, 78, originally from Harrisville, MS. passed into the higher life on Christmas Day, 2020.
James leaves behind his devoted wife Aleene (nee Jordan) of Shaw, MS., his three children:  Jim, Milton, and Dorothy, two grandchildren: Marco and Emma.
James was the elder son of former Harrisville School Principal Ellis Murray; mother Nell Neely Murray, teacher at Harrisville School.
James leaves behind two sisters: Mary Posey of Brookhaven, MS. and Ruth Meyers of Oviedo, FL.
Upon HS graduation, James joined the US Army. Later attending Co-Lin Community College and Delta State University, he majored in math and physics. James’s love of science and technology led him to teach both in public high school and for the US government as an army electronics instructor. As a civilian licensed pilot and aeronautical instructor, James served with patience and gentle humor, combining his love of flying with his enjoyment of teaching technically complex subjects.  In his later years, James and Aleene retired to Oviedo, FL. where they were active members of the St. Albans Episcopal Cathedral.
Memorial services are incomplete at this time, but those wishing to commemorate James’s memory may do so by donating to the charity of their choice, or to James’s church at http://www.stalbansfl.com/give
