Jake Milner, a Simpson County Academy (SCA) Senior, brought various community leaders to SCA on Thursday, September 22. Each SCA senior was tasked with doing a Senior Project. Jake chose to collaborate with business leaders in various fields and bring their experience, values, career insights and advice to SCA for a career fair. The speakers included:
- Mike Leech, former President of Irby Electric
- Sam Cowart, Youth Pastor First Baptist Mendenhall
- Don Corley, VP of Purchasing Irby Utility
- Buster Caldwell, Warehouse Manager Irby Electric
- Eddie Moak, former VP of Sales Irby Utility
Each speaker presented in front of SCA Juniors and Seniors. The goal was to have the students begin thinking about life beyond high school and focusing on career paths that will be rewarding to them. The event was very well received by both the students and presenters alike.
Jake’s parents are Drew and Jana Mcglinchey and Lawrence Milner, all from Mendenhall.
