J.M. Shows, Jr., 94, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. He was born Monday, May 31, 1926, in Simpson County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. Roger Lee will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mr. Shows was a member of Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church.   He was a longtime homebuilder, an avid gardener, a talented artist, and a wood worker.  He loved nature, his family, and traveling.  He was very devoted to his family and loved by all his friends and family.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frankie Merle Ham Shows; parents, Joseph Marvin Shows, Sr. and Dollie Jones Shows; one son, Stanley A. Shows; three brothers, Webber Shows, Hilton Shows, and Halston Shows; and three sisters, Faye Shows Shoemaker, Vema Shows Hawkins, and Roma Shows Meadows.

Survivors include his two loving daughters, Nancy Shows Meaux and husband, E.J. of Mendenhall and Becky Shows Crout and husband, John of Mendenhall; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Shows of Florence; nine grandchildren; twenty great- grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.
