Iris Cockrell, 68, of Mendenhall, went home to be with the lord on Dec 31, 2015 at St. Dominic Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Bro. Marcus Burnham and Bro. John Hancock will officiate. Burial will be in Everett Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements, (601)849-5031.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee.
She is survived by her Spouse of 51 years Dwight Cockrell, 1 son, Edward Cockrell, 1 daughter, Tammy Cockrell, 1 brother, James Purvis, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Nelson and Irene Purvis.
Pallbearers will be: Edward Cockrell, Mitchell Conn, Delaine McDonald, Brian Cockrell, Cade Cockrell, and Randell Bragg.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Michael Conn, Chris Banes, and Richard Harper.
