Update from
Charles Valadie,
Fire Coordinator – Simpson County
I’m pleased to announce fire insurance classification improvements in the Simpson County fire districts of Old Pearl, Pinola, & Station 7. A survey from the Mississippi State Rating Bureau has determined that the fire protection provided from each of these departments has improved significantly enough to warrant advances in grading, and possibly providing a substantial savings of insurance premiums to local property owners. Hard work & perseverance has finally paid off, through the leadership & efforts of Chief Kenny Lewis & his staff, Chief Larry Walker & his staff, Chief Jamie Freeman & his staff, and Simpson County Fire Coordinator Randy Hays. Old Pearl has advanced to a fire rating of 7. Pinola has advanced to a fire rating of 8. Station 7 has advanced to a fire rating of 7. Each of those responsible for this accomplishment is to be commended. It should be noted that Randy Hays who recently died, had made these efforts toward improvements a priority. He would have been proud of this great achievement.
