Inmate serving 30 years at Rankin County prison dies
JACKSON – A Central Mississippi Correctional Facility female inmate serving three DUI-related sentences, including one for a death, has died at a Jackson hospital.
Deborah Patton, 41, died Sunday morning at Merit Health Central, where she had been hospitalized for several days. An autopsy will determine the official cause and the manner of death.
Patton, MDOC #190938, pleaded guilty to DUI-death and two counts of aggravated DUI for a 2013 fatal DUI crash that killed a 5-year-old child and injured the child’s parents in Marion County. She was sentenced to a total of 30 years on May 9, 2014.
