I always enjoy the Mayor’s Report at the Board of Aldermen meetings! Ya’ll know, Dale keeps you entertained and informed.
Tuesday night, Dale said that Urgent Care will be locating above Tractor Supply. Work on the building will begin soon.
Two companies have requested sign ordinance information: Burger King and Dollar Tree. (I think that is a good sign these two businesses may locate in Magee. Talk is the Burger King will locate in the parking lot of the Shopping Center (Auto Zone) in the area where the old gas station was located. Dollar Tree is looking at CVS or old Family Dollar building).
The Splash Pad opened Monday at the Sportsplex. Passes are available for purchase at City Hall. Hours are Monday-Saturday 2-7 and Sunday 2-6.
The big fireworks show is planned for July 4th at the Sportsplex. Dale is hoping the Chamber will host a BBQ cooking contest.
June 7th, Ferguson Credit Union is holding a ground breaking. The building will be located next to Foozy Dental Clinic. The event is from 11-12 with the “official” picture being taken at 11:30.
Paving projects will kick off on June 18th.
The Simpson County Board of Supervisors chose AMR as the ambulance service for the county/city. Dale explained that he is anxious to work with any company. He hopes that AMR will house the helicopter at the Magee Airport or at least buy gas from the airport.
Farmer’s Market is doing well. The market is open on Saturday from 9-1. Each market has brought new vendors.
