Yes, friends, I finally got my vaccine. I have been one of these people who kept putting off the big shot. I am not scared of a shot…I just didn’t know about the side effects. After encouragement by my sons…and raves by my friends…I big the bullet.
Simpson General Hospital, which was recently named a COVID-19 Center of Excellence by the MS State Department of Health, had the Johnson & Johnson one shot.
Susan Jenkins, SGH Director of Nursing, and Shana Lane, Director of Risk management, infection, and control, were on hand for Saturday vaccines. Nursing students from Co-Lin assisted in the process.
I will say, the shot hurt a little…but Chuck was getting his shot after me so I knew not to scream! I have had no problems following the shot. Now as for Chuck, the shot hurt and his arm still hurts. In two weeks, our immunity will kick in! Following the shot, we set in the waiting room for 15 minutes to be sure we did not have a reaction.
Simpson General has available appointments for the vaccine . To schedule your vaccine, call 601-847-8304. The direct line to SGH is 601-847-7100.
