I love articles that are going to make my life complete if I do certain things. Certainly, there are certain things we need to do daily in our lives…prayer and reading our Bible. But setting goals for ourselves should be near the top!
1. Where would you like to be a year from now?
2. Set financial goals for income and net worth. Always put the words “or better” after the number you write down!
3. Don’t wait for confidence! If you have an idea…go forth. Always think of the worse thing that could happen if you do not attain your goal. If you feel you can live with the failure…go forward.
4. Write down your goals. While in high school, the late Jeff Easterwood kept his goals on a piece of paper by his bed. He looked at those goals morning and night. I have never forgotten. His list spoke volumes to me. Be a goal setter. (Pictured on the home page is Jeff, Frank, and Lee Easterwood. Jeff died in a drowning accident years ago. Jeff’s father Frank is deceased. Jeff’s brother Lee is a Doctor in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jeff and his mother Faye are buried in the Magee City Cemetery.)
5. Take action toward your goals. Think proactively.
6. If your dreams or goals do not come true immediately, don’t give up! Keep on pushing.
7. Set goals for helping others.
As I look at 2024, I am almost afraid to set goals. I am scared of disappointment. But as I have worked on MageeNews.com trying new things, I finally realized that the worst thing that could happen was usually it just didn’t work. Without trials, one will never know what is missed.
Happy New Year to each of you. I don’t think you have any idea what your faithfulness means to me.
