Following my recent trip to Disney World, I left with a new found appreciation for customer service.  I have always been a “customer service” person after growing up in our family business and practicing the Moto “the customer is always right.”  Now, there have been many times I did not think the customer was right, but in my opinion, Disney has taken customer service to a new level…a level we should all try to achieve no matter how large or how small an organization!

The mindset of Disney seems to be what can I do to make your trip a pleasure.Cool water in the lobby, easy and ample transportation, excellent signage, the list goes on and on…I guess one of the reasons the customer service just blew my mind because I was associated with a company for twenty years who operated under the feeling of how can I NOT help you. I have seen a change in the industry I worked in several years ago. This group of folks, ok, I’ll just say it, the post office, now strives to help and educate their customers. Sure some of the people with the PO years ago did try to assist their customers but it was not something management supported.

Firehouse Subs Coming to Magee!

I feel what businesses can offer to set themselves apart is customer service.  Some people will be about saving a $1 but sometimes having someone who will help you is worth way more than that $1 or several dollars!

Businesses must maintain a healthy bottom line…they must make money…but profit and people go hand in hand.

If you know a business who offers excellent customer service, tell them!  The business is trying to make your experience with their company positive. I am quick to give negative feed back…I need to be quick to give positive feed back.

So here’s to you the Magee Post Office—you are doing great!
