People of all ages participated Tuesday honoring our Veterans with a a 5th Annual Parade and Ceremony, sponsored by the City of Magee and the Magee Chamber of Commerce.
The students from Magee School lined the streets with flags waving as the parade passed by. Several students made signs stating “Thank you for your service.”
Boswell Regional Center was present, as well precious children from the First Baptist Church Daycare. The children waved their flags as they watched amazed as the parade passed.
After the parade, a ceremony was held on the steps of the Community House. Mayor Jimmy Clyde welcomed everyone, and Darnell Moffett opened with prayer. The National Guard presented the colors and the Magee High School Band performed.
B. Scott Buffington, guest speaker, did an excellent job honoring and remembering our veterans. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Magee Community House honoring the veterans and their families.
