Higher education professionals can strengthen their career skills through a new certificate program at Mississippi College.

Instructors teach classes both fully online and in the more traditional classroom format. The 15-hour program caters to students seeking to earn their certificate in less than 18 months.

The MC program assists professionals seeking administrative opportunities in the rewarding field of higher education, says Graduate School Dean Debbie Norris.

Classes focus on higher education’s legal and financial issues, student development ethics, community colleges and much more. The fall semester begins in late August. Courses are available online in the fall, spring and summer terms. Registration is set for August 24.

The program enables professionals to “learn more about the overall workings of a university system,” Norris says.

Convenience remains one of its key pieces.

Its format should appeal to working adults juggling multiple tasks – from raising children to school activities to extracurricular activities, Mississippi College leaders say.
