Incumbent Matthew Hickman secured his position as Alderman Ward 2 with a victory over Beth McCall More 63-27.
The Tuesday election had a larger turn out than expected (90). The Ward 2 position was the only item on the ballot.
The General Election is scheduled for June 8, 2021 at the Civic Center. Although there are no contested positions, the election must be held and each candidate must receive at least one vote to make the election legal.
City Officials for the next four years are:
Mayor: Dale Berry
Alderman at Large: Sue Honea
Alderman Ward 1: Mark Grubbs
Alderman Ward 2: Matthew Hickman
Alderman Ward 3: Lane Steele
Alderman Ward 4: Patrick Brown
The new slate of officers will be sworn in on July 1, 2021.
The first official board meeting will be July 6, 2021.
