Copiah-Lincoln Community College sophomore Alex Hamilton of Florence was recently selected to the 2018 All-USA Academic Team. Only 20 students nationwide were named to the prestigious All-USA Academic Team. The team is sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group, with additional support provided by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and Phi Theta Kappa. Hamilton was also the highest scoring student from Mississippi in the All-USA competition, earning him the distinction of New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar for Mississippi. Hamilton will receive a $5,000 scholarship as a member of the All-USA team, and a $2,250 scholarship as the New Century Scholar.
Hamilton serves as Student Government Association President and Vice President of Research for the Eta Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Student Voices, Trailblazers, and Phi Beta Lambda. He was selected as Who’s Who at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and to the PTK All-Mississippi Academic First Team. Hamilton was also selected as a Get2College Corps Internship Scholar.
He is the son of Randy and Sandy Stagg.
