Jackson-based, Woman-Owned Small Business Awarded $3.16 Million Contract for Architect-Engineer Services on Courthouse Facility
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) today announced the new federal courthouse building in Greenville will be designed by Duvall Decker Architects, a woman-owned, small business firm in Jackson.
The General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded a $3.16 million contract to Duvall Decker for architectural and engineering services for the new courthouse. The contract period ends in November 2021.
“This contract signals progress on making the new federal building in Greenville a reality. This facility will be designed to provide functional space for the federal judiciary and other services, and I look forward to its completion,” Cochran said.
As chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Cochran in December 2015 was instrumental in securing $52 million in GSA construction and acquisition funding for joint United States courthouses, federal buildings, including U.S. post offices. Of the $52 million, not less than $46 million was set aside for a new Greenville Federal Building.
Last September, the GSA selected the “Stein Mart Site” for the new Greenville federal facility. This site is located at the northwest corner of South Poplar Street and Washington Avenue in Greenville.
