The Magee Farmer’s Market kicked off Saturday, May 26th with a large crowd of people and vendors. From vegetables, to duck eggs, to honey, to goats, to Bob’s famous pulled pork, Becky’s baked goods…and more…everyone had fun at the market!

The Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday during the summer beginning at 9 AM on the parking lot next to the Community House. (Word of advice, don’t be late…people shop early)

Brother Buddy and Jackie Keyes farm “Growing By Faith” supplied the fresh vegetables. The produce will continue to increase as the summer progresses. Hopefully, there will be okra next time!

Judy and Jimmy Lot provided real Simpson county honey! One can even get a free sample!

Becky has the baked goods. When you approach the table your mouth will start watering.

Jon and Liz Ethridge of Coat Creek Farm brought baby goats! The children in attendance had the best time feeding the goats. Liz makes fabulous goat milk soap.

Bob Everett had downtown smelling good with his sausage dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. Gene Everett assisted Bob.

Patrick and Deia Sanders and their precious daughters: Piper, Nyla, and Parker had the cutest “set up.” I guess one could say their speciality is duck eggs…but a few chicken eggs were thrown in plus I got a free Huckleberry Muffin filled with huckleberries picked the day before. The girls are great sales persons…who could resist.

I hope I didn’t miss anyone, but if I did…I’ll get them next Saturday.

I have several videos from the market on MageeNews.com FB page.

Thanks to Alex Boykin manager of the Market! For additional information about the market, (we’ve love more vendors) contact City Hall. (601-849-3344)
