The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Proverbs 4:25-26: “Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm.” Although King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived, he didn’t always utilize that wisdom imparted to him by God. In later life, Solomon was led astray by many of the wives he chose who were from nations given to the worship of idols. God’s wisdom, however, never changes. Man’s whims and follies do. Man is fickle and will bend like a reed tossed about by the wind. God tells us to keep our eyes fixed on Him. Look neither to the left nor the right. Walk the straight and narrow and keep our feet and our walk firmly planted in the truth. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” The old hymn says it very plainly. Think and reflect. Amen!
