The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Isaiah 40:31: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Yes, the prophet of old assured those who placed their hope and trust in God would find greater strength. They would soar as if on eagle’s wings; they would run and not grow weary; and they would walk and not tire. God would always be with them and would never leave them nor forsake them. As Christians, we are afforded the same assurance today. I will close with the chorus to the gospel song “Teach Me, Lord, To Wait,” which is based entirely on this passage: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Teach me, Lord, teach me, Lord, to wait.” Amen!
