The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in James 5: 15-16: “The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” The apostle James penned these words of encouragement to the early Christians to help strengthen their faith in Christ Jesus. The members were to confess their sins to one another, to offer support to those less fortunate among them, and to band together in praying for their sick. The last sentence should hold special meaning for all believers: “The prayer of a righteous man availeth much,” as stated in the King James version. We are to pray earnestly and fervently, believing God will heal and restore. When we’re asked to remember someone in prayer, do so with conviction and in child-like faith. Offer up the prayer and rest in knowing that God is faithful to deliver. Amen!
