God craves communion with us, His children.

By James Davis

The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Jeremiah 29:12: “You will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” The prophet of old was in constant contact with God’s chosen people. It was Jeremiah’s duty as a prophet to deliver God’s messages. God craves communion with us, His children. He listens attentively to us when we communicate with Him through prayer. Today, we no longer need a prophet to relay God’s messages. We can read His Word and pray directly to Him. How comforting it is for us to know that God is there all the time, and He keeps a listening ear for our concerns. Draw close to Him, and He’ll draw closer to us. That’s a promise on which we can rely!
