GETTING CLEAN
Have you ever thought about wanting to clean up a part or all of your life? It could be cleaned up by saying I truly am sorry for whatever you did; or, it could be cleaned up by truly obeying God.
Open your mind and heart today as you read today’s devotion. Our reading today comes from 2Kings 5:14. Then went he down and dipped himself seven times in Jordan according to the saying of the man of God and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child and he was clean.
Naaman was a captain in the army. Naaman had leprosy. He had a bad attitude about everything. He cared about himself only. Everything he done was about for the betterment of himself. This man was very stubborn. Naaman wanted to get rid of the leprosy he had. A maid of Naaman’s wife who was a little girl said to him go to the River Jordan and dip himself in the river and he would be clean.
Naaman thought in his mind of cleaner rivers than the River Jordan. Naaman met a man named Elisha. A servant of Elisha told him to dip himself seven times in the River Jordan and the leprosy would be washed away and he would be clean. Naaman got mad because a cleaner river was not given unto him to dip himself in because of his greatness of being a captain in the army.
Finally Naaman “done” what he was told to do and after seven times his flesh became clean. In us today God is telling us how to clean up our life and make it a life worth living. Some of us are as stubborn as Naaman was but also as smart as Naaman was by obeying God. God tells us to be born again by repenting, being filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance, take up our cross, follow Jesus and then serve Him 100%. This is how we clean up our spiritual life and truly serve God.
If we take one step toward God and tell Him what we need God will take two steps in helping us to supply that need. We must have faith in God supplying our need. The arms of God are always open to us and we can talk to Him anytime, every time, and all the time.
Father we come to you just the way we are having faith in you to help us supply our need what ever it may be. In the name above all others. Have a blessed and victorious week.
