George Cooper Berry
May 1, 1938- January 21, 2024
George Cooper Berry, 85, a lifelong resident of Mendenhall passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. He was born on Sunday, May 1, 1938, the only child of George and Margie Berry. He graduated Mendenhall High School in 1957 and attended Copiah Lincoln Community College where he played football. George became a salesman for Inland Container Corporation where he made many friends while designing and selling boxes for produce growers. His favorite pastimes were talking with friends and spending time on his farm where he raised Hereford cattle for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Margie Berry; father-in-law, Garrett P. Mullins; mother-in-law, Quay Mullins; brother-in-law, E.C. Mullins.
Survivors include his wife, Dora Ann Mullins Berry; daughter, Regina Evans and son-in-law, Byran Evans; grandchildren, Mary Ann Brown (Mike Brown) and Allison Evans (Mark Pankratz); great- grandchildren, John Byran Eason, Cooper Brown, and Evan Pankratz; brother-in-law, Marshall Magee; sister-in-laws, Carolyn Magee and Sharkey Mullins.
A private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mendenhall. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall was in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401
