(December 13, 1927 – April 28, 2019)

Floyd Bennett Sartin, Sr. 91, of Mt. Olive, MS, passed away Sunday, April 28th, 2019 at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. He was born Tuesday, December 13, 1927.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church in Mount Olive, MS

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Mount Olive. The Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. James “Jimmy“ Arender, Bro. David McNeil, Kenneth Roberts, and Bro. Foy Killingsworth will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mr. Floyd served as a deacon at both the First Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church for over 30 years. During his service, he established the first Sunday School Class designed for disabled children. He also conducted weekly prayer meetings at the local nursing home. He had a love for playing softball, carpentry, farming, but his greatest love was for his family.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Sartin and Alice Johnson Sartin.

Survivors include his wife, Willene Sartin; daughters, Beverly Baldwin (Hardy), Diane Etheridge (Mike); son, Ben Sartin (Joy); grandchildren, Brandi Giordano (Cliff ), Hardy Martin Baldwin III, Josh Etheridge (Lauren), Maggie Chaffin (Chris), and Bailey Sartin; Thirteen Great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Hardin and Virginia Lee (Charles Ray); brother, Ken Sartin (Mary Nell); sister-in-law, Jeanne Sartin.
