Main Street Magee looks fabulous —thanks to a hard working group of folks!
Gaye Sullivan captured these images!
You know, sometimes, we think things just happen. We ride up Main and think how wonderful the flags look. But, the hours of work it takes to see this display become a reality is possible because of people who love our city.
Chamber President Tiffany Kinslow (who is also on the Bicentennial committee and the Preservation Committee) pushed hard for the realization of the flags. Jean Allen and her daughter Allison Berch have invested hours and hours into the betterment of our community. Now, I know I will get in trouble for saying names…but I’m old so just put up with me! Penny Aguirre and Kara Lucas of the City promote all city activities. Firemen David Craft and Charlie Valadie helped a dream be realized. Jon Layton and his ministry guys did the gut labor…actually making the flag dream come true. I”m sure I’ve left off tons of people…just let me know.
The Bicentennial activities for Magee beginning April 13th gives our city a time to shine as well as retouch with history.
Magee had and has many progressive minded people—they had a vision and worked diligently to reach each step through the years. Yes, we are making history as we celebrate this period. All ages will enjoy the events. Be sure and bring your children…great history lessons!
