Youth and adults from First Baptist Church, Magee, recently took part in a powerful “home” mission project aimed at serving local needs right here in our community.
Led by Dr. Ryan Wade of First Baptist, the group worked on several projects throughout the city. On Friday, July 18, 2025, they kicked off their efforts at Magee High School. The two-part improvement project began with a cleanup of the front entrance, followed by work along the side of the building. Their goal? To make the school shine before students return.
At noon, FBC youth and adults served lunch to the Magee High Maintenance Staff and the Magee Police Department. The afternoon continued with music and fellowship as the group visited Lakeview Place, sharing songs and smiles, then moved on to the swing bed unit at Magee Hospital. That evening, they treated the Magee High Band Camp to dinner.
But Saturday was far from a day of rest. Volunteers joined in a City Cleanup, reflecting a heartfelt sentiment: “One house at a time… we can make a difference.” Beginning at 9 AM, emergency food bags were packed and prayed over by participants of all ages. Burgers & Blessings offered free meals—and a word of encouragement—to anyone who stopped by. The day ended with a Neighborhood Block Party full of joy and connection.
Sunday wrapped up the mission weekend with Bless Our Neighbors, a door-to-door outreach sharing Blessing Bags with residents around FBC. The grand finale was Bash for Boswell, a fun-filled evening at the church featuring food, games, and laughter with residents from Boswell.
