Start 2020 out with a BANG but make sure it is the right bang.

New Year’s Eve brings fun and excitement to the New Year! Fireworks are a fun past time to ring in the new year! Before allowing fireworks make sure all safety rules are followed. Also, remember if you live within the city limits each town might have ordinances pertaining to the use of fireworks. Follow the rules below and everyone should have an exciting and safe New Year’s.

  • Know your fireworks. Read the warning labels and performance descriptions before igniting.
  • Do not mix alcohol and fireworks.
  • Parents closely supervise teens  and children if they are using fireworks.
  • Parents should not allow young children to handle or use fireworks.
  • Fireworks are only to be used outdoors.
  • Always have water ready if you are shooting fireworks.
  • Wear safety glasses whenever using fireworks.
  • Never relight a “dud” firework.
  • When picking up trash after shooting fireworks place them in water to soak before disposing of them in a garbage can.
  • Never attempt to alter or modify fireworks
