Fannie M. Smith passed away, on March 11, 2023, at Magee General Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 7, 1937, to Rudolph Jones and Irene (Roberts) Jones in Jefferson Davis County.
Mrs. Fannie was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she and the love of her life, William J. Smith, raised their two girls. She loved her church family and the friendships that she’s had through the years. Up until the last few years, she still participated in the meals served in the fellowship hall where she was best known for her pecan pie.
Working in her yard brought her great enjoyment and her beautiful flowers showed as much. She always wanted to be able to look out and see her immaculate lawn.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gayle Johnson (Danny), Brenda Neely (Wyck); granddaughter, Jenifer W. Courtney (Chase); two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Ella Courtney and sister, Shirley Warren (Gary).
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, William J. Smith; her parents, Rudolph and Irene Jones;  brother, Harold Jones (Faye) and sisters, Hilda Roberts (Delma) and Margie Weaver (Oscar).
Services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS at 2:00 PM with Bro. Trent Sullivan officiating. A private graveside will follow.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Magee General Hospital for all their love and care for their mother along with Gentiva Hospice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
