Emma Overstreet wins Forerunner XC Challenge

Simpson Academy Junior Emma Overstreet took first place in the Green Division of the Forerunner XC Challenge, which was held in Petal on Monday, September 13.  Overstreet led the Lady Cougars to a close second place finish in the meet, losing to Columbia Academy by seven points.

Caroline McAlpin and Kinsley Welch also finished in the top five of the girls’ race, placing 4th and 5th respectively.

6th Grader Parker Payne placed third in the JV race, which was run in heavy rain.

Leading the varsity boys was Jayden Smith, who placed 10th overall.

The top ten finishers of each race received a t-shirt.
