Emily Wray Herrington, 85, of Florence, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Friday, October 26, 1934, in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
A private family visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Magee, Mississippi.
A private Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 27, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. The funeral service will be via Live Stream on Mims Mitchell Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Facebook. The burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Murvin Camatchee will officiate. Mrs. Herrington was a member of College Drive Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister. She served as a deaconess in her church and also taught Sabbath School. She enjoyed painting and working in her garden. The love of her life was her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol Dee Herrington; parents, Oscar and Rosalie Stephenson; one son, Jeffrey Carrol Herrington; sister, Rosetta Stephenson Belcher; and brother, Alvin Irving Stephenson.
Survivors include three children, Janice H. Smith of Pearl, Robert Michael Foster of Brandon, and Amy Lofton of Pearl; nine grandchildren, Emily A Rambo, R. Jason Rambo (Jan), Benjamin M. Rambo, Jessica S. Porter (Mac), Sydney H. Baugh (Adrian), Chrysyde D. Lofton, Gwynyvyr L. Lofton, Sarah E. Lofton, and Emmanuel Lofton; eleven great-grandchildren, Brittany (Mike), Allison (Britton), Jessica, Nathan, Hailey, Rebekah, Kendyal, Santino, Kaeden, Sebastion, and Khaliyah; nine great-great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, David, Paityn, Mikah, Alex, Bella, Landon, Levi, and Memphis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be R. Jason Rambo, Adrian Baugh, David Jordan, Nathan Rambo, Emmanuel Lofton, and Michael Rayner,
Honorary pallbearers will be David Shelton and Santino Baugh.
