Elsenrath hired to coach Co-Lin offensive line

 

CoLinWolfpackWESSON – Copiah-Lincoln head football coach Glenn Davis announces the hiring of David Elsenrath to the position of offensive line coach. Elsenrath replaces Robert McFarland, who left Co-Lin in the spring to become offensive line coach at Louisiana Tech University.

Elsenrath last coached at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. While at Valdosta, Elsenrath served as the assistant head coach, offensive line coach, and recruiting coordinator. In 2007 he was part of a Valdosta State team that won the NCAA Division II National Championship with a 25-20 win over Northwest Missouri State. Elsenrath had two stints on the Valdosta State coaching staff. First serving from 1988-1992 under head coach Mike Cavan and then working from 2007-2011 under head coach David Dean.

Prior to coaching at Valdosta, Elsenrath was an assistant coach at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee for seven seasons. Over his years at Tusculum he served as assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, tight ends coach, offensive line coach, and director of football equipment.

From 1997-2000 he served as the head coach at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. He also had previous coaching stops at Eastern Kentucky University, University of Louisville, and Auburn University.

Elsenrath played collegiately at the University of Missouri-Rolla and holds a master’s of education from Auburn University.

Prior to being hired at Co-Lin, Elsenrath was working for Russell Sporting Goods as a business manager. He and his wife, Beth, have four children, Andrew, Robert, Mary Day, and Clara Beth.
