On October 31, 2024 at approximate 20:52:24, the Magee Volunteer Fire Department  was paged to a single vehicle wreck along Simpson Hwy 49 N with possible entrapment.

It appeared the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing him to slide off the right side of the highway crashing into several large trees.

Upon arrival, the driver was trapped inside the mangled vehicle. The firemen used the jaws, spreaders and rams to disassemble and open the vehicle enough to remove the driver safely.

The scene was logged under control at 21:40:56.

The driver was placed on a backboard and stabilized. Medics with Covington County Ambulance Service transported the patient. The driver sustained several injuries to his right leg and hip.

Simpson County Sheriff’s Office & Mississippi Highway Patrol were also on scene.

At this time, the Fire Chief is not releasing the name of the 18 year old driver from Clinton, MS

. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this effort of successfully extricating this young man. It was definitely a group effort by all parties.
