Derwood L Holbrook, Jr., 68 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Ochsner Hospital Medical Center in Jefferson, LA. He was born Tuesday, May 11, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi.

  Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Mendenhall City Cemetery in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. Earl Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Derwood (Buddy) Holbrook Sr.  and Vidilia (Skeet) Boggan  Holbrook.

   Survivors include his brother, Allan  Holbrook (Teresa); sister, Teri Holbrook  Anderson  (Reed);  nephew, Trent  Holbrook  (Jennifer); nieces, Alyssa  Bryant  (Jonathan), Holley Pratt  (Chris) and Cameran  Thames;  and a host of great-nieces and great- nephews.

   Pallbearers will be David Holbrook, Trent Holbrook, Jay Thompson, Greg Grondin, Leonard Saxson, Reed Anderson, and Allen Osborn.

   Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Brown and Truitt Barnard
