After her discharge in the Navy, she began her nursing career in 1991. She worked at River Oaks Hospital then began her long-standing journey at Baptist Hospital. Her nursing career provided her the opportunity to meet new friends and extend her compassion for her patients. Those that knew her knew how much she loved her patients and was able to connect to them.

Deborah had a great love for her family. She also expanded her love for family to her friends, as they were all her family as well. Her friends and working colleagues were very special to Deborah.

Those that knew her appreciated her love and passion for nursing, meeting new friends, collecting shiny things, adventures on the road, her birds (Sally, Zane & Duke), and spending time with family & friends.

Deborah was predeceased by her father, Truman Blakeney. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Geisenhoff; sister, Charlotte Pardue (Dwight); brothers Jeff Blakeney (Connie) & Stacy Blakeney (Ann); nieces and nephews, Rodger Pardue (Beth, Aubrey & Bryant), Lindsay Baker (Scott, Jensen & Jewel), Tammy Blakeney (Aaliyah, Xander, Kaleigh), Travis Blakeney (Rachel, Landon), and Suzanne Crittenden (Ryan, Alyssa, Aiden, Anthony).

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, 2807 Hwy 37, Raleigh, Mississippi 39153.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Liberty Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.    Brother Tommy Shields will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Taylorsville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 527, Taylorsville, MS 39168 or the Animal Rescue League.
