On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, David Michael Starling was arrested for approaching a young child in the City Park of Magee. Candy Burns was walking in the City Park with her 4-year-old child. When the girl ran toward Starling who was sitting in the drivers seat of a vehicle with the window rolled down, the mother yelled at the child to come back. The little girl told her mother that the man (Starling) was going to give her some candy and let her play with a puppy. The man was identified as David Michael Starling who is a registered Sex Offender.
Starling was arrested by Lt. Joey Womack of the Magee Police Department.
Starling appeared before Judge Eugene Knight, Monday, June 12, 2017. Starling was charged with a felony, misdemeanor, DUI other 2nd offense, possession of paraphernalia and marijuana in a vehicle. Bond was set at $20.000.
Starling will appear before the Grand Jury in September.
At this time, Starling has not bonded out of jail.
