David Marshall Coquat (Oct 12, 1983 — February 25, 2018)
David Marshall Coquat was born on October 12, 1983 in Jackson, MS and entered into rest on February 25, 2018 at his home in San Antonio, Texas having attained the age of 34 years, 4 months, and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joshua Stewart Coquat, and is survived by his parents, Zane Dee Coquat and Lori K. Coquat of Cordova, Tennessee; sisters Shannon Parham, Rachel Weyel (Joseph), and Rebecca Case (Matthew); brothers Caleb Coquat, and Jacob Coquat; along with seven nieces and nine nephews.
David will be remembered by all who knew him for his contagious smile, quick wit, passionate opinions, and natural talent in a variety of disciplines. Throughout his life, David was a lover of song. Having grown up in the a cappella tradition of congregational singing, he loved the old hymns as well as more contemporary Christian, country, and rock music. He played the guitar and sang in times of joy and sorrow both for audiences and in the solitude of home. He enjoyed good food, good tunes, Dallas Cowboys and Longhorn football, and the San Antonio Spurs. David was for a time active in the study of the martial arts, having been inducted to the U. S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame as the 2003, Competitor of the Year for the State of Texas.
For the past four years, David was employed with CDI Technology Services in San Antonio, Texas where he distinguished himself as a Information Technology Systems technician installing and troubleshooting communications cabling plants and providing superior customer service and support. Having lived throughout the southeastern United States for a number of years, David was thrilled to return to his (adopted) native Texas in 2012. He enjoyed his work, and especially the fact that it enabled him to live in the land that he loved the most.
David loved his family, his sisters, little brothers, and especially his nieces and nephews. He only wished that he had been able to spend more time with them and get to know each of them better.
David’s life is a testimony of the grace of a loving and sovereign God who does not allow our struggles to define nor overcome us, but rather, magnifies His mercy and grace in the face of our inabilities.
Visitation with family and friends will be at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Avenue West, Magee, MS 39111 from 10 AM until 12 PM
