The December 2024 minutes were approved.

Chancery Clerk Tim Gray presented the following for approval.

Justice Court Clerk,  Joyce Ann Hicks, gave the 4th Quarter 2024 Report:

Sheriff Paul Mullins report:

All items on the Sheriff Agenda were approved.

County Administrator Eric Bowen report:

A discussion was held concerning moving the Fork Church voting precinct.  No decision was made.  According to Board Attorney Danny Welch,  numerous steps are required  to move a precinct.

Charlie Welch presented the need for a generator for the Courthouse.  The area to be powered was discussed.  Donny Welch said, “what can we afford to do or not to do.”  Mr. Welch is to gather prices as well as suggestions.  The generator for the sheriff office shop no longer works.  A decision will be made concerning repair, replace, or connect to the Chancery Building generator.   Updated phone service has been approved.  Charlie reported that one large oak tree is leaning toward the Courthouse. Two additional trees are in question as to removal. Jeremy Bolton, County maintenance, stated the county crew could handle removing one of the trees in question.  The larger trees will require professional removal.  The Courthouse roof still has two leaks which are scheduled for repair.

Jeremy Bolton informed the Board the garbage truck should to delivered this week and then outfitted.  The board approved for Jeremy to rent a bucket truck to assist with tree and trash following the storms.  Hopefully, the clean up will take one month.

John Kilpatrick, Emergency Management, stated “everyone worked together during the organized chaos of the storm.”

Daniel Ferguson, building and code enforcement, briefly discussed the situation with permitting trailers in the county.

The Board approved following the 2021 federal building codes.

The meeting was called into Executive Session.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
