Curtis Lafayette Allen, an 82-year-old resident of Port Allen, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on July 4th, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

Curtis was born on February 24, 1941, in Magee, Mississippi, to Grace Cook Allen and Curtis Allen, Sr. After graduating from French High School in Beaumont, Texas, in 1957, he obtained a degree in Industrial Technology from Texas A&M University in 1964.

In 1978, Curtis met Wilhelmina VanMarion, with whom he celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary in December.

Throughout his career, Curtis oversaw major construction projects in Saudi Arabia, London, England, and throughout the United States. He eventually retired in 2000, which allowed him to indulge in his passions for bowling, fishing, hunting, and especially riding his Harley.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Cook Allen and Curtis Allen, Sr., his son David Allen, his brothers Joe Allen and Paul Allen, and his sister Rosemary Allen Hardesty. He is survived by his wife Wilhelmina Allen, his son Richard Allen (wife Della), his daughter Stacey Allen, six grandchildren (Lenae, David, Janie, Grace, Claire, Gabriella), and one great-granddaughter (Linley), his sisters Louise Dillard (husband Gene) and Sue May (husband Jerry), brother-in-law Len VanMarion (wife D’Juana), sister-in-law Chrissy Akbari, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Colonial Chapel in Magee, Mississippi, on Friday, July 14, from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.  Funeral services held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.
