Daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported to MSDH have continued to trend upward, and hospitalizations for COVID-19 have steadily risen as well, with 264 Mississippians currently hospitalized for COVID-19 as of June 27. Being fully vaccinated and current with any boosters is the best protection against serious illness. |

Stay protected
- Wear a mask in public places, including public transportation.
- Have a home test kit ready. How to get free test kits
- Get tested if you are ill. If you think you’ve been exposed, get tested as soon as you experience symptoms, or after 5 days without symptoms.
- If you do become ill with COVID-19, talk to a doctor right away about treatment with Paxlovid to reduce the severity of illness, especially if you’re over 65 or have a chronic illness.
MSDH offers free COVID-19 testing around the state, and COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are available at county health departments.
